BIO
Owen Goss is a Canadian independent game designer and developer and co-founder of Milkbag Games, a two-person indie studio best known for creating Disco Zoo, a mobile game about rescuing animals and throwing disco parties where everybody dances. Owen has been a professional game developer for 22 years, starting his career working at AAA game studios as a lead user interface programmer and senior gameplay programmer.
In 2008, Owen left his position at a major game studio to pursue independent game development, founding a solo studio called Streaming Colour Studios. Owen created a number of games for the iPhone in the early days of the App Store. His game Finger Tied was selected by Apple in their 2012 "Best of the App Store" selection of apps.
In 2012, Owen teamed up with his friend Matt Rix, creator of Trainyard, to found a new two-person studio called Milkbag Games. Their first game, Disco Zoo, is a mobile free-to-play game about building a zoo with cute pixelated animals. The game was selected as an Editor's Choice by Apple and has been played by millions of players on iOS and Android. Milkbag Games has since released other titles on PC and consoles, as well as mobile games, and daily web puzzles.
Owen lives and works in Guelph, Ontario, in Canada. Outside of games, he enjoys making pottery, building electronics, astrophotography, and rock climbing.
